Nancy Booth
MSN, PHN, RN, CCHP-RN
Ms. Booth has over 50 years of experience in managing, educating, and leading health care teams. Now one of our independent correctional health care consultants, she formerly served as both Director of Nursing Services and Supervisor of Case Management for San Diego County jails, a system with over 84,000 annual admissions.
Ms. Booth developed a specialty telehealth program, established and managed the county inmate Medi-Cal Inmate Eligibility Program (MCIEP), managed infection control for the County’s jails, and supervised the women’s detention facility. A skilled communicator, educator, publisher, and expert speaker who has presented on a wide variety of topics, she ensures that all stakeholders — from physicians, attorneys, and law enforcement to insurance adjusters, patients, and families — understand the steps needed to successfully care for each patient both during incarceration and upon reentry. Ms. Booth currently serves as an NCCHC general surveyor and is an Accreditation and Standards Committee member.
